What is LizardSkin?

A liquid ceramic insulation and sound reduction material developed by a leading manufacturer of commercial coatings.

This product has several capabilities that cannot be found in standard forms of insulation that we know today.

Lizard SkinT is comprised of innovative microscopic air filled reflective and sound absorbing particles. The particles are then held in suspension by a complex formula of acrylic binders. These two factors work together; the particles reflect heat, and the air in the particles help to dissipate heat and sound. The binders also participate in reducing sound transfer at the same time withstanding tremendous temperature swings.

Lizard SkinT is a water-soluble product with no chemicals involved which after independent lab testing has a class A fire rating. Lizard SkinT has the capability of withstanding temperatures from a -45° up to 500°F.

Lizard SkinT will adhere to any clean, dry, oil free substrate, and primed metal, while remaining flexible will not crack or release after curing. It is easily applied with a spray system, and can also be brushed or rolled. It also can be sanded, primed and painted.

Lizard SkinT once cured seals the surface from moisture and most all chemicals, in addition it is durable in that it can handle substantial abuse.

Because Lizard SkinT is a liquid insulator it completely seals 100% of the substrate being coated. With only the thickness of a credit card you form a skin like membrane, which can now insulate areas that are not accessible with standard forms of mat insulation.

Lizard SkinT is the perfect insulator for street rods, customs, race-cars and trucks because of its ease of application and it simply out performs the others. The general thickness needed for most applications would be about 40 to 60/1000's. The only areas requiring more thickness would be on the firewall or the floorboard where the exhaust system runs.
